Biography

Robert Shaw is a finance and accounting executive with nearly three decades of experience leading global private equity real estate funds, credit platforms, and investment management businesses. A Certified Public Accountant, he is recognized for building scalable reporting, treasury, and compliance frameworks that support complex alternative investment portfolios.

Robert spent over a decade at Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds as a founding member of its Controllers Group, leading global reporting, valuation, and operations for multi-billion-dollar funds. He later served as Senior Vice President in Lehman Brothers' Private Equity Finance Division and as Managing Director and Company Controller at Silverpeak Real Estate Partners, managing over $15 billion in assets following Lehman's restructuring. His subsequent roles included Global CFO and COO at Vanderbilt Real Estate Investment Management and Managing Director, Real Assets Product at Allvue Systems (formerly AltaReturn), where he bridged fund operations and technology to enhance transparency and efficiency.

Most recently, Robert led Private Equity Real Estate client services at Standish Management and served as an outsourced CFO for a single-family office, overseeing accounting, treasury, and financial planning functions. Recognized for his expertise in integrating investment-level data into consolidated fund frameworks, he consistently builds financial infrastructures that balance transparency, accuracy, and scalability.

Robert holds a B.S. in Business Economics and Accounting from the State University of New York at Oneonta and is a CPA licensed in New York. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his family, tennis, pickleball, and mentoring young professionals.
