David Sandrew

Biography

David Sandrew is a senior financial services executive with more than three decades of experience spanning Alternatives, Capital Markets, and the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) sectors. Recognized for his deep expertise in alternatives, complex global investment structures, technology platforms, and regulated funds, David is a trusted advisor to C-suite leaders for his ability to turn market challenges into innovative, client-focused solutions. He has held leadership roles at industry-defining firms including Citco, Charles Schwab, UBS, and Waystone, consistently driving growth and innovation across front, middle, and back-office operations.

At Citco Fund Services, David helped expand the firm's presence across real estate, private equity, private credit, and hedge funds. He led strategic joint initiatives—such as a fintech spinout with Ares Capital—and cultivated key institutional relationships including Wafra. Most recently, as Head of Key Accounts, North America at Waystone, David oversaw relationships with more than 25 of the world's leading financial institutions—including J.P. Morgan, Citibank, UBS, and Wafra—delivering measurable growth and strengthening the firm's strategic client partnerships.

Earlier in his career, David was an early pioneer in the RIA market at Charles Schwab, where he helped design custody and investment platforms that empowered independent advisors to compete with major wirehouses, laying the groundwork for Schwab's enduring leadership in the space. At UBS Financial Services, he managed global relationships with leading asset managers such as Wellington Management and State Street Global Advisors, aligning capital markets, trading, and research coverage to client needs and reinforcing UBS's position among the world's top institutional investors.

David holds a B.A. in International Relations from Boston University, with a concentration in Eastern European Studies. Outside of work, he is the father of four, an avid fly fisherman and cyclist, and a longtime Special Olympics coach and supporter.
