Biography

Andrew Kandiew is an accomplished executive consultant and trusted advisor to investment firms, asset managers, and boards, and has recently joined Sackett as a senior member of the firm's leadership and advisory team. With decades of experience as a CFO, COO, and Senior Managing Director, he brings a unique perspective that blends operational rigor, financial discipline, and forward-looking strategy to help organizations strengthen governance, protect investor capital, and achieve sustainable growth.

In addition to his role at Sackett, Andrew is the founder of AAK Consulting LLC, where he partners with select clients to design and implement frameworks that stand the test of time—from operational due diligence models and risk governance structures to emerging strategies for digital assets. His work through AAK Consulting complements his responsibilities at Sackett, allowing him to deliver deep subject-matter expertise while leveraging Sackett's broader platform, resources, and network to drive scalable, enterprise-level impact.

Before launching AAK Consulting, Andrew spent nearly two decades at Franklin Templeton's K2 Advisors, where he served as Senior Managing Director and Head of Operational Due Diligence & Risk Management. There, he transformed operational due diligence for one of the industry's leading global alternatives platforms, built a proprietary scoring model that became a benchmark for governance, and guided the firm's entry into digital assets. His leadership was instrumental in safeguarding billions in client capital while mentoring the next generation of risk leaders and representing the firm across industry forums.

Earlier in his career, Andrew held senior finance and operations roles at organizations including Commonfund Group, Clariden Asset Management (Credit Suisse), and Vantage Global Advisors, where he honed his ability to balance big-picture strategy with hands-on execution. Beyond the boardroom, Andrew has served as a Board Director and President for organizations navigating governance, growth, and capital strategy—consistently delivering measurable results and investor value.

A Certified Public Accountant and graduate of the University of Connecticut with a Master of Science in Accounting, Andrew holds FINRA Series 65 and Series 2 licenses. Known for his collaborative style and approachable leadership, he is valued by clients for making complex risk and governance issues understandable, actionable, and aligned with long-term goals. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys ice hockey, reading and time with his family.
